Hello there! I'm Pastor Dave Schroyer, Pastor of Worship and Senior Adult Ministries at Community Church, where I have the joy of orchestrating our Sunday services and special worship events. It’s a role that spans from directing our cherished choir to overseeing our contemporary service, ensuring that every element aligns to create a harmonious worship experience for everyone.

Aside from the musical aspect of my work, I also lead our Senior Adult Ministry. This involves keeping in touch with our shut-ins and visiting seniors in the hospital, ensuring we support them through surgeries and their rehabilitation journey. It's about staying connected and attentive to the needs of those in our congregation who are 60 and above, making sure they feel part of our church family even if they can’t make it to services.

Family has always been my cornerstone. My beloved wife, Marianne, was a tremendous part of my life until her passing. We have three children: two daughters and a son. Our son Eric lives nearby in Cleveland, which keeps him close to us, while our daughters have spread their wings a bit further — one in Richmond, Virginia, and the other in Orlando, Florida, near Disney World. They've blessed us with several grandchildren, one of whom is currently pursuing a career on Broadway in New York City.

My connection to Community Church began back in 2009 when I received a call from our senior pastor’s father, reminding me of our past connection and introducing an opportunity to serve here. What was initially supposed to be a six-month trial has blossomed into over a decade of fulfilling ministry.

Passion is a word often thrown around, but for me, it's about helping people understand the awesomeness of our God through worship that balances spirit and truth. This passion extends to every melody we sing and every scripture we recite, aiming to deepen our collective appreciation and understanding of God’s grace and expectations.

Outside of church, my free time is often spent among model trains—a childhood hobby I’ve joyously revisited. Building an extensive layout in my basement and traveling on scenic train journeys, like the thousand miles I recently enjoyed on the Alaskan railroad, are the ways I unwind and reconnect with myself.

In our busy lives, it’s vital to remember we are part of something greater, and for me, that’s about making every worship moment one where we meet God joyfully and sincerely. I hope to share this journey with you at Community Church, fostering a space where we can all grow together in faith and fellowship.
