Hi there, I'm Don George, your Executive Pastor here at Community Church. If you ever wonder what I do around here, well, think of me as the head cook and bottle washer! That's a fancy way of saying I oversee all the administrative parts of our programs and staff. It might sound a bit generic, but really, it's all about coordinating our ministries and making sure everything that needs to happen, does happen.

I first found my way to Community Church around 2014 or 2015. I was actively looking for a church that not only believed in the Bible but lived it out, shining God's light outward. Pastor Mike’s preaching and his heart for the gospel really struck a chord with me. It was also the perfect time because the 'Pursuing the Journey' class was just starting. It felt like everything was lining up right for me to join this community.

What am I passionate about? Well, it’s serving and advancing God’s kingdom. On a personal level, this means I love connecting with people, teaching, and even stepping up to the pulpit when the opportunity arises. Day-to-day, it’s about figuring out how to best coordinate our ministries to push forward God's greater plan, not just within our church but beyond its walls. I guess I’m a reformer at heart—I’d rather improve things than replace them.

Speaking of heart, I've been married to my wonderful wife, Donna, for 29 years now. I’ve been blessed with three kids: Ashley, Andrew, and Aaron. They’re all doing their own thing but still close enough to keep the family ties strong.

When I'm not at church or with my family, you might find me fixing something around the house—could be carpentry, plumbing, you name it. But when it’s really time to relax, nothing beats a walk with Donna and our dog or escaping to the Smoky Mountains.

And if you’re looking for a little guidance, here’s a tip from me: never underestimate the power of a good cup of coffee! But seriously, one of the best resources I've encountered in the last two decades is ‘The Truth Project’ by Dr. Tackett. It’s a fantastic tool for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of a biblical worldview.

So, that’s a little about me. I’m here to serve, to lead, and to be part of this amazing journey we're all on at Community Church.
