Student Led Easter Breakfast

E

very Easter, our church celebrates in a special way. Before each service, we host a massive breakfast feast. Imagine tables laden with egg casseroles, bacon, sausage, yogurt parfaits, fresh fruit, and donuts from a local bakery. This tradition is more than just about the food; it's about celebrating the resurrection of Jesus, creating a space for our community to gather, enjoy, and converse.

Our student ministry takes the lead in hosting this breakfast. They're the ones preparing the casseroles, serving food, and managing the kitchen. It's their way of giving back, showing servant leadership, and embodying the spirit of Jesus. While the breakfast is free, it also serves as an opportunity for our congregation to support our students' missions and retreats through donations.

Easter marks the cornerstone of our faith, emphasizing the significance of Jesus' resurrection. It's a day of joy and celebration, an opportunity for us to slow down, come together, and reflect on the importance of this holiday. It's a reminder that without Easter, there would be no Christianity.

This year, we were thrilled to have over 300 people join us for breakfast, with 35 students and volunteers working tirelessly to make it happen. The sense of community was palpable, with people moving between tables, engaging in conversations, and truly embodying the family of God. It was a beautiful testament to why we gather and celebrate in this way.

To those who donated, thank you. Our students are preparing for a mission trip to Costa Rica, working with local communities in San Jose. It's another way we're reaching out, connecting, and spreading the love and message of Easter, and your support is making it possible.
